what do you do when you feel that your work isn't satisfying, when you feel that you will just caught behind tasks that tax you mentally, physically, and emotionally?

i think about what God has truly placed me on this earth for - i have no clue.

i think of all the times we are told to use the gifts that God gave us to the fullest extent. am i? am i using my musical talents, my intellect, my compassion, my love for children to their fullest? can i?

my life is full of 5-year plans.

"let me unclench this grip."
but i just don't let go.
i hold fast to my throne
all in the name of control.

something striking to consider:

If a third of the world was left in a state where they had little to no water within reach to them, would you immediately try to get them the water they so dearly need? keep your answer in mind.

The Christian mission field is a wide and expansive one. I constantly hear of short-term mission trips, mission conferences, seminars, and commissionings. But think of this way: This mission field really in a sense only covers about 66% of the world. And about 97% of the funding goes towards this chunk of the mission field. But please don't get me wrong. All mission funds are well spent in doing God's work. And any person going out to do missions is fully supported by me. I just think the allocation could use a little work....

Now, the unreached people groups of the world, all of them, make up a third of the world, and 78% of them are Muslim. That's a huge chunk of people yearning for the Living Water of Jesus and we only have 2.4% of the WORLD's mission funds going to support the missionaries trying to make breakthroughs in those areas. And for every million Muslims, we only 2 or 3 missionaries working to trying reach them.

I know that I will be inundated with facts of the difficulties facing the Christian missionary trying to enter into a Muslim country. But isn't that even more reason to at least put our sights on working towards the goal of making a breakthrough?

just something to think about.

today's puzzle:

Perpetual Chain?

Take any positive whole number not greater than 50. If the number is even, divide it by 2. If the number is odd, multiply it by 3, and add 1 to the result. Apply the same method to the resulting number, and continue in this way forming a chain of numbers until you finally arrive at the number 1. Shown below is the chain of numbers that results from this method if you begin with 15:

15 -> 46 -> 23 -> 70 -> 35 -> 106 -> 53 -> 160 -> 80 -> 40 -> 20 -> 10 -> 5 -> 16 -> 8 -> 4 -> 2 -> 1

As you can see, the number 15 requires 17 steps to end up at 1. Of the numbers not greater than 50, which takes the longest to reach the number 1?
